Hi, I'm Scott

I am a counseling intern who believes that healing is not about trying to rid ourselves of our imperfection but learning to build a more kindhearted relationship with our wholeness—body, mind, and spirit. Whether you are carrying shame, guilt, or just feeling stuck, you are not alone. Rooted in the practice of curiosity, compassion, and connection, we can walk together to build a strong refuge from which to explore who you are and who you would like to become.

A Space For Growth

I believe therapy is a collaborative process to develop more compassionate ways of being towards ourselves, others, and our communities. By bringing an accepting, kind presence to the counseling room, my goal is to create a space for you to feel safe in showing up as your authentic self.

My approach is strengths-based and relational, as I will work with you to help you feel empowered and supported in your journey. I draw mainly from attachment theory and mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapies, especially Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to build resilience through emotional regulation, coping skills, and values identification and exploration. I love to incorporate stories, metaphors, and humor as a way to help learn how our minds can work, and I am always working to tailor therapy to each client’s unique needs, goals, and lived experience.

I am here to support you in navigating career and life transitions, anxiety, depression, men’s issues, and identity exploration. In addition to these, I enjoy working with individuals with chronic health issues like IBD and autoimmune conditions. I am excited to walk alongside clients in many walks of life: teens, young adults, and adults in any life chapters.

Experience, Education & Values

Scott graduated from Miami University of Ohio with a BS in Education in 2013 and is pursuing his Masters in Counseling and Career Development at Colorado State University. His career has included many chapters teaching and learning with adolescents and young adults, including middle and high school English education, wilderness therapy, outpatient and residential adolescent substance abuse programs, and environmental science educator and supervisor in Yosemite National Park. This varied experience has developed a holistic, nature-inspired approach to wellness and personal growth that he uses to help clients connect to the earth as a source of wisdom and support.

Outside the counseling room, Scott enjoys making elaborate dinners with his fiancée, roaming the mountain wilderness, naturalizing, playing guitar, and watching Cincinnati sports teams. He is dedicated to the lifelong pursuit of finding a home in his body through yoga, meditation, hiking, and study.

Scott is deeply committed to helping others foster a sense of love and belonging to self, others, and the natural world.
