How We Help
Our goal is to help you feel more grounded, capable, and connected—to yourself and to your life.
At Beyond the Mirror Counseling & Wellness, individual counseling is personalized and collaborative—not one-size-fits-all. Your therapist will work with you to understand what’s happening beneath the surface, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop tools that support real, lasting change. We integrate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), DBT-informed skills, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care. When appropriate, sessions may also include EMDR, somatic practices, creative expression, or nutritional support to address the mind-body connection.
What to Expect from Individual Counseling
Getting Started
We begin with a brief connection with our administrative team, who will gather some initial information to better understand what you’re looking for and help determine which therapist may be the best fit. From there, you can schedule an intake session. If you’d like, you’re also welcome to schedule a brief, complimentary consultation to connect with the therapist and ask a few questions before beginning.
Your Sessions
Sessions are collaborative, paced, and tailored to you. Your therapist will work with you to explore patterns, build insight, and develop tools that support emotional regulation, clarity, and meaningful change.
Ongoing Support
As therapy continues, goals may evolve. We regularly check in to make sure the work feels supportive, relevant, and aligned with what you want for your life.
